Hey Lovelies, and thanks for dropping by my blog! Today I was just cleaning out my bag and with that also my everyday makeup bag, and I noticed that I had threw in some unnecessary things! (whoops) But with also the re-organizing and cleaning out, I decided to stick with some basic essentials which would come in handy, and in use! Everyone talks about the “MUST HAVE’S” but today lets get into things you don’t need in there!
Foundation & Eye Shadow Primer
In my opinion, you don’t need to carry these two products with you in your makeup bag, simply because you can carry something much more smaller, which will also get the job done. Instead of carrying foundation, use a concealer to cover up and hide the blemishes. Just place it on the spots you want to cover up, dab it on with your finger and there you have it! Same thing goes for using your concealer to prime your eyelids. Just apply a little bit on your eyelids with your fingers and set it in place with your bronzer or translucent powder.
Eye Shadow Pallet
I know that sometimes our eye shadow can fade away or move out of place, I get it, it happens. However, if you carry an eye shadow pallet around with you, you will also need to carry the brushes with it. For days when you just need an effortless makeup look, carry bronzer with you to touch up the crease and give more dimension to your eyes.
This one has to be one of the hardest decisions I have made. I chose not to carry a liquid liner with me on a daily basis because it limits the things I can use it for and it also means that if I have to fix my wing, I might have to take it off first, and start all over. Doing that would be too time consuming, and frankly I have never, till this date done it (Unless I’m at a special event and I need my make up to be flaaaawless). Instead, I carry some sort of a dark eye shadow. It gives me more options in terms of touching up. I can use it to create a smokey eye look, smudged eyeliner look, or just a natural finish, for daily wear. On the other hand, if you are someone who likes to have a defined eye, may that be on the eye lid or the water line, then by all means, do carry an eyeliner pencil or liquid liner!
I don’t think a blush is significantly needed in the makeup bag because you can quickly use your lipstick (given it is a pink/red shade) to apply on the apple of your cheeks and blend out with your fingers. It’s simple, quick and easy. Who doesn’t love that?
I don’t think you need a setting spray in your makeup bag everyday mainly because it generally comes in a large bottle which can take up too much space, and you can also set your makeup with a translucent powder or a pressed powder. If you are using a primer before your foundation when you apply your makeup, using a translucent powder or pressed powder will just help lock all the products in place.
I hope you enjoyed this post, and hopefully it helped you narrow the things you need to carry in your makeup bag! This is just my opinion on some of the things because I don’t like carrying too much in my bag to begin with.
Leave me a comment and tell me whats in your makeup bag?
